🕊️ KaNyamazane Medical Centre Outpatient Rehab: Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Lives 🌿 About Our Programme The KaNyamazane Medical Centre Outpatient Rehabilitation Programme is a six-month recovery journey designed to help individuals break free from drug addiction through mentorship, spiritual support, medical supervision, and regular drug testing. Founded in 2019 by Dr. Joel Mavuso, a respected Family Doctor in KaNyamazane, the programme was born from a calling to help people reclaim their purpose and dignity. Rooted in compassion and guided by faith, it has grown to become one of the most impactful outpatient rehab programmes in Mbombela and the surrounding Mpumalanga region. Since its inception, over 1 300 individuals have joined the programme, and 350 have successfully graduated, celebrating restored families, renewed faith, and freedom from addiction. --- 💬 Real Stories. Real Transformation. Every graduate represents a victory of courage and healing. Bheki Lekhuleni (51) from Swalala shared how drugs once destroyed his trust at home and left him without hope. > “Drugs ruin your life. They are very dangerous. I was struggling to get a job, and whenever something went missing, I was the first suspect. But since I joined the programme, I’ve built back trust with my wife and three children. I’ve overcome addiction — and I’d advise anyone struggling to seek help.” Then there’s Thamsanqa Makhubela, one of the first graduates from the class of 2020, who now serves as a mentor and evaluator at the Centre. His story of resilience continues to inspire many entering the same path he once walked. Thami turnt out good, he's married now and renovated his grandma's home and bought himself a car. These stories are not exceptions — they are the heartbeat of KaNyamazane Medical Centre’s mission. --- 🏥 Our Approach: Healing the Mind, Body, and Spirit At KaNyamazane Medical Centre, we believe that rehabilitation is not just about quitting drugs — it’s about rebuilding lives. Our outpatient model provides flexibility for individuals to continue with their family and work responsibilities while receiving structured support. Here’s how our rehabilitation journey works: Phase Duration Focus Areas Month 1–3 Medical Detox & Stabilization Medication prescribed by Dr. Mavuso to manage withdrawal and stabilize the body. Month 4–6 Mentorship & Emotional Recovery Regular group sessions, random drug testing, and personal counseling for emotional healing. Ongoing Community Reintegration Continuous follow-ups, peer mentorship, and spiritual support. The programme emphasizes personal responsibility, ensuring that participants are willing and ready to change. > “We don’t force anyone or tie them down. They must be willing to receive help,” says Dr. Mavuso. --- 🩺 In the News & Media Recognition Each media feature strengthened public awareness about the power of community-led healing and KaNyamazane Medical Centre’s commitment to transforming lives in Mbombela, KaNyamazane, and the greater Lowveld region.
